Today's workout:
Bike-213 minutes (52 miles)
Run-18 minutes
Swim-30 minutes

Walk-short walk with the pups

Here's the bike route from today. It doesn't have our stats because Wayne didn't have his phone today so this map just comes off the website.

Despite the threat of torrential rain, it was a beautiful day! It was in the 50s and sunny for the whole ride. Some wind, but nothing crazy. We had to improvise at one point. Not sure if I missed a turn or what, but we went a little off course where they were making brand new roads. We ended up having to walk our bikes part of the way down a road that had been closed because it was in the dirt stage of getting new pavement. But it worked out ok and we stayed mostly on route. We had two guest riders today. Hugo came by this morning with Ken's Donuts and rode about half-way with us, and our long-lost riding buddy Brad came with us for most of the ride. It's always a treat to have extra companions on the rides!

The run was good-both dogs accompanied us. Nice and slow and short. The swim felt great. I really like the short Saturday swim. I just clear my mind, don't count laps, don't have to do any crazy drills, no speed work....just swim to enjoy swimming. I try and really stretch out when I push of the wall and stay under for a while, just to relax my muscles. I'm starting to feel like Popeye. I'm noticing new muscles pop out where there was only flabbyness before.

I need to start doing a better job of eating on Saturdays. I had a smoothie and a bagel with cream cheese and tomatoes for breakfast.  I wasn't hungry at all on the ride, but made myself eat some stingers. I started to get hungry on the run, but was fine again on the swim-even though I didn't eat anything. But now I'm really tired and I can tell it's from a lack of food. (And of course from the long workout...) I had a few bites of cookie dough, but I'll make some pasta and salad in a little bit here. I had a 3:30 am date with Caribia and the Mint Milanos again last night. I'm gonna have to start keeping powerbars in the bedside table, that way I won't have to actually get out of bed. Heck, I'll just put a plate of cookies and a glass of milk by the bed and hope that the mice or santa claus doesn't get to them before 3:30am!  I feel full when I go to sleep, but I guess my body is just getting used to having food every few hours, including while I'm sleeping!

Already 5:15pm. We're gonna have some late evenings once the rides pick up in the mileage! Overall I felt really happy and strong for the workouts today. I think it's good we're doing the weights. I feel like they're helping to balance out my body. And I know the yoga helps too. I have to do everything I can to prevent injury at my age!

TTFN!
M :)
