Poor little Bella

Today's workout:
Run-Fartleks, drills, accelerations-about 9 miles
Weights-2 x 15

Today was Bella's Spay Day. Too bad it wasn't a Spa Day. Add a "y" to Spa and boy of boy does that meaning change! Kristi and Wayne dropped her off early this morning and then Mama Kristi worked out solo during the day today so that she could take care of Bells this evening.

In addition to having her lady parts removed, she had her remaining baby teeth removed and a microchip added! What a day for Bella! She seemed as comfortable as she could be given the situation, all snuggled up with her family on the couch. It was hard to leave her tonight.
It's probably a good thing that Bella couldn't go for a walk today-she might just have blown away, tumbling down the trail with the crazy wind we had!

It was 40 degrees with 21 mph winds for the run today. I had to hold onto my hat when I went across the Mopac under bridge bridge. The workout was great. It was a warm up, then 10 minutes more warm-up with four accelerations, then three sets of 1 minute heart rate 2-3, 1 minute slow, then 3 minutes HR 2-3, then 1 minute slow, then 5 minutes HR 2-3, then another minute slow. After repeating that three times, we did butt kicks, high knees and skips twice. Then six more accelerations and then a cool down. It took me about nine miles to do all that. I felt so good-I haven't had such a good run in a really long time. Even though it was windy, the temperature was perfect and the trail was pretty much empty of all sane people. I felt like Forrest Gump, like I could just keep running and running tonight.

The weights were pretty good tonight too, although I do feel like a little old grannie sometimes when I pick up the free weights, or when I'm getting in and out of the exercise machine contraptions. I grunt and groan as I make my way around the gym. But somehow I get the workout done.

At home tonight I did some serious roller action. So painful. Tears welled up, saliva drooling involuntarily out of my mouth, more groans and grunts....it wasn't pretty. But I know it'll make everything feel better by the time I wake up.

I felt wide awake during the workout tonight-had a definite runner's high after the run, but I am crashing soooo hard right now. Time to hit the sack. With dreams of donuts dancing in my head. (I'm picking up donuts for work tomorrow. One dozen for the people I work with and one dozen for me. I've decided to unofficially start training for the Kenman race.)

Nighty night!
M :)
