Wrapping up!

Today's workout:
Swim-90 minutes
Bike-60 minutes

Only one more early morning Wednesday morning swim left! Yeeehawww! The swim was fine this morning. Nothing special. I'm trying not to worry about the swim taking me close to two hours at the event. That'll give me 20 minutes cushion on the cut-off time. I'll have to hurry through that transition to gain some extra time on the bike. It's a lot of ground to make up on the bike. They'll be pulling people off the course at mile 60 if they're not there by 1:40.

I was telling Wayne on the ride tonight that I'm already mentally preparing myself for a DNF, just in case it happens. I would be totally disappointed and I will cry, but at the same time I will remind myself of a quote I heard once that goes something like this, "You never know your limits until you reach them." So if I DNF, that will just mean that I reached my limit. I know that I will have tried as hard as I could have, and be happy with that. And then one more quote will enter my mind, "Those who shoot for the moon and miss, still end up in the stars." I'm remaining confident that I can finish so I don't mentally psyche myself out, but I am getting a little worried about the swim and bike cut-off times.

The ride tonight was nice-the weather was beautiful today. In the 80s, just a light breeze, and perfectly sunny. My allergies are working their way down my system. My headache is going away, and my eyes have been ok today, but my throat is sore and I have a cough now. And still lots of snot. So much in fact that I think I corroded Shoal Creek. Wayne said that all the construction on Shoal Creek must be due to the alien slime trail I left behind! Hahahaha!

I ate too much for dinner just now. I had the Jamaican Stir Fry from Mother's Cafe with a spinach salad. Actually I had half the stir fry and Chris had the other half. But I'm still stuffed. And I had a side of guacamole and chips. I've been craving guacamole a lot lately. I love avacados. Time for some pepto.

16 more days. Unbelievable.

M :)
