Swim-20 minutes
Run-18 minutes
Last night Chris and I were talking and I was telling him how much I wish he and the pups could come to the Woodlands with me on Wednesday. He said he could maybe make it work. This morning he talked to his work people and he was able to leave with me today! We cancelled the pet sitter and I spent the morning packing after my swim and run. I am soooo happy that Chris and the girls are here with me. It makes the whole weekend better!
We left at 2:30 after Chris finished working. The swim was my very last indoor swim ever!!!!! Thank goodness that's over. The run was nice-I went up around Central Market and back with the pups. It was so humid I was crazy dripping when I got back.
Then I took my bike to ATC to get the tube changed out. I ran over something in the past few weeks that threw my rear tire out of whack, so he fixed that too.
The drive to the Woodlands was pretty good. It only took Caribia and Cheyenne an hour and a half to stop whining. I think they thought we were going hiking or something so they were excited! I drove for almost two hours before our first rest stop. After resting for a few minutes we were about to back out of our parking spot when Chris noticed somebody was about to back into my bike. They kept backing up so Chris honked. Sailor Mary took over at that point. She jumped out of the car, threw her hands in the air and yelled at the car, "What do you think you're doing?" (Well, that's not exactly what she said, but what she really said would probably get blocked by the blogger police!) The person drove forward back into their spot and then we backed out and got back on with our drive.
I was so sore after driving for two hours. My shoulders and back hurt. It was kind of funny to think that I got that sore sitting on my butt for two hours, and in two days, I'm going to be biking farther than I drove. Chris figured out that if we added 17 more miles to the race on Saturday, we would have propelled ourselves from Austin to the Woodlands.
I have a major saddle sore. Which is so weird because we haven't done any long rides lately. I'm hoping it goes away before the race! But just in case I have some of those donut shaped padded band-aid looking things. I'll put one in my pocket in case it gets painful on the ride!
Here are some fun pictures from today.
Sweet Cheyenne taking a nap on the ride to the Woodlands.
Caribia enjoying the view out the window.
Crazy Chris behind the wheel.
One of the cutest pics I have of my girls. Caribia looks so happy and Bug looks a little anxious!
Our Hawaiin Hula Monkey Boy enjoying the ride to the Woodlands.
Benihana for dinner. Not a good restaurant for vegetarians. They seasoned the tofu with pepper and didn't season the veggies or rice with anything. Yuck. But they did sing Happy Birthday to Chris and gave him some ice cream!
I ended up ordering Jimmy Johns when I got back to the hotel. And I ate a bunch of oreos for dessert.
Bonnie couldn't figure out how to use her chopsticks. Chris called these snotsticks.
So we're all settled into the hotel now. The room is awesome. There's a full kitchen. Stay tuned for hotel pics in tomorrow's blog. The pups are slowly getting used to the new smells. They are both napping now. I brought a blanket from home and that really helped them chill out. I'm sure by tomorrow they'll be more comfortable. There's a great big king size bed so Cheyenne and Caribia will have tons of room tonight instead of their usual cramped place!
Ok, time for bed. I'm pretty tired. I only slept about five hours last night for some reason.
M :)
