Today's workout:
Off
Walk with the pups
Someone asked me today, "Isn't your marathon tomorrow? Why aren't you taking the day off?" I told her it's next week. I didn't correct her about the event. For some people the idea of doing a marathon is crazy enough as it is, no need to confuse them with the details of the Ironman. But it's nice that she was supportive and even remembered that I have an event coming up. She's a new co-worker, so it was nice that she even asked.
I can't believe that this time next week we will be settling in for one last good night's sleep before the race. (Hopefully it's a good night's sleep!) I can't believe that I am ready for this race. I feel rested and not sore at all. I guess that's how we're supposed to feel, but I also feel like the training that we have done is going away since we haven't done a super long workout in a couple weeks now. I just have to again remind myself to trust the training, and that my body will remember how to do the distances when it's time.
The weather for the Ironman in the Woodlands is predicted to be 40% chance of thunderstorms. That's down from a 60% chance that was being predicted yesterday. Texas weather is so crazy that I won't believe the weather forecast until the day before.
I'm still working on the packing list. I think it's about finished. Kristi and Bonnie have been sending me items to add that I've forgotten. Tomorrow I'm going to do the workout in the exact clothes that I'll wear next weekend to make sure they work ok.
It's such a beautiful night that I'm going to go for another walk now that Chris is done with work. Then time for an EBT.
M :)
