Today's workout:
Bike: 80 minutes on the trainer
Run-34 minutes
94 degrees at 5:30, 87 degrees at 7:45. I really like this weather. Bonnie brought a fan for the trainer workout. There was a nice breeze tonight, so it wasn't too bad, even though the fan didn't oscillate over to me at all. Wayne said his left leg got some cooling action from the fan. Kristi and Bonnie said that it helped a lot. I'm going to have to bring an extra fan down next week if it's this hot again!
The trainer workout was good tonight-HR 2-HR3 high, three sets-15 minutes, then 12 minutes, then 10 minutes. With four minutes recovery in between each. Then just some easy quick spinning.
The run was fine too. I'm definitely getting used to having really tight calves for the first mile after biking. I'm going to have to be prepared for that on race day. I know that I'll have to stop and stretch them within the first mile or two. Then they feel better almost immediately after stretching. It takes me a good two miles to get into a run nowadays. My bones need longer to warm up to a good pace then it used to. But once I get into the pace I feel good.
After the run there was a really cool show, courtesy of Mother Nature. We are in a tornado watch until 10 pm, and the clouds didn't disappoint. Here's a pic from our deck.
We could see the big puffy cloud growing right before our eyes. It was really something. When Chris came back from picking up Spicy Pickle sandwiches he said that people were all over the sidewalks taking pictures of the sky. There are some pretty amazing pictures posted on facebook already.
I was just picking up my phone to text Kristi to see what her view of the clouds was like from the 41st floor when I got a text from her asking if I could see the clouds from our back deck! Jinx!
Wayne took some pics, they were walking Bella so the photos are from the ground level and not from up in the air from their home. Here are their pics.
The entire sky was a spooky orangey-red color. It was really amazing. Luckily it blew over pretty quickly. There are some reports of crazy weather north of us, closer to Waco. Hopefully the tornado watch will end soon. We have a designated safety spot in our house just in case.
That's all for now!
M :)
