Today's workout:
Nothing!
I swam yesterday so I wouldn't have to swim today. I'm so glad I did that. I was pretty beat after a full day of dance rehearsals and then a performance! We performed "Black and Silver" by Wiz Cerveza at the TAKS pep rally at school today. It was pretty funny! Wiz had two fans show up-Chris and Kristi got front row seats and laughed their way through the performance. It's a good thing I was able to keep my day job because I certainly couldn't make a living dancing around like a fool!
Since Chris switched his shift today he was off this evening, so we were able to take a nice walk with the puppies. My legs weren't sore at all today- I think the ice bath and the foam roller really helped out. The only thing that was sore were my shoulders and neck. But that's a usual occurrence on Mondays for me. I used one of those one-time use shoulder heating pads and took two aleve and it felt all better by mid-morning. I think it just gets so tight from swimming breaststroke and then being in the aerobars for hours on end.
I keep checking the Texas Ironman website for the "Athlete Guide" or whatever it's called. The official packet that has all the specific information we need for the weekend. I'm excited to take a look at it and read it over and over and over. I think I've read the training book like a million times. I'm trying to get my hands on any last minute tips and ideas for the big event. I found a website that offers mental tips and that's been really helpful during the long weekend workouts. I'm trying to come up with a solid mental plan for the entire day. With a back-up plan of course. Hope the best but prepare for the worst.
Say, that gives me an idea...with less than a month to go now, maybe I should start finding inspirational quotes to get pumped up. Let me see what I can find...
I think today's quote is by George Bernard Shaw.
"I want to be all used up when I die."
I like that one.
I'll have to dig around for some other quotes for the next twenty-six days. Suggestions welcome.
M :)
