Today's workout:
Swim-60 minutes.
Yup, that's it! A 60 minute swim! I decided that I was going to treat myself to a chill, short swim. And it was so awesome!!! I figured it's spring break, it's a back week, I have a bunch of errands to do and I have to work on my resume all day, blah, so why not give yourself the gift of a short swim!
Then swim was ok, nothing special. Except for the fact that Michael Phelps was in the middle lane doing the butterfly for 45 minutes of my hour long swim. It was like a tidal wave every time he'd go by me. It's a pretty small pool, only three lanes. Barely enough room for two people to share a lane. I was sharing my lane with a little old lady who was swimming against the wall, and I was swimming alongside the lave divider thing. Each time he'd do a lap, the divider would hit me and the poor old little lady would get pushed up against the wall from the power of his stroke! Keep in mind that I was trying to do the drills today-so I wasn't using my arms a lot of the time. I can barely keep my head out of the water when the pool is calm, never mind with a butterflier in the next lane!
The little old lady was resting at the end of the lane when I stopped to take a break. (One of many, many breaks today...heehee!) And she said to me, "I wish he'd go away." Hahahahaha! She said exactly what I was thinking!
I got a lot done today. I registered for the Open Water Swim on April 3rd. I still need to rent a wetsuit. I also got a two-piece swimsuit from Lane Four. It's not the cutest, but it fits and it was half-price. It's purple with stars on it. It's my favorite color, so I'm happy with it!
I just got back from a nice long walk with the pups and they are beat! It was hotter than I thought out there. They are so excited for tomorrow when they get to spend the day hiking with their cousin Bella at McKinney Roughs Park. I really want to try and get a photo of all three pups sitting next to each other.
I'm still going to work on my portfolio some more, dye my hair, give myself a pedicure, and take an ice bath. I'm not really sore, but I didn't take one yesterday and I like to take them for injury prevention purposes, not just for when I'm sore. It'll be interesting to see if the gross big toenail falls off completely today.
Ok, that's all for now.
Later gators!
M :)
