New and Improved Chicken Wings

Today's workout:
Run-5 miles, 43 minutes
Weights-2 x 15

What a great day! In the 80s! It's a back week, so the workout was nice and short and sweet. We ran the five (which is more like 4.7 I think) mile loop with one minute pick-ups and three minute rests between each one. We were around a seven minute mile pace for the pick-ups and our last pick-up was a 6:54 pace! Wow! I almost didn't believe Kristi's watch! And Wayne rocked it out with 7:30 pick-ups! Wow! The training must really be working! Then we did a bunch of drills and 14 accelerations.

Today was the tank top season debut. Usually when we do weights we're wearing long sleeves or at least short sleeves. But today, the chicken wings were in all their glory. I noticed in the mirror on one of the exercises that my arms were looking more muscular than I've ever noticed before. Then a few minutes later Kristi said she could tell my arms are getting muscular. Then a few minutes later Wayne commented that all we do is talk about our muscular arms when we lift free weights. I told him that it's all very exciting, having never had these muscles before! Hahahaha! Then, when I got home, I was telling Chris about my day and using my hands and arms to explain something (I think I talk a lot with gestures) and he also commented on my arms! Hahahaha! He did say that the shadow from the kitchen light was making them look more defined, but that's ok...I'll take all the help I can get! Now if I could just get my legs to look more defined like my arms.....

Last night I slept horribly. I was asleep by 9:30. That was good. Then Chris came home from open mic around midnight and I woke up. Couldn't go back to sleep until around 1am. Then at 1:30ish, Chris startles awake and says, "What's that? Do you hear that noise?" It was something from outside. So I was awake again. Chris on the other hand was snoring within three minutes of his grandpa hop to the window to see what was the matter. Asleep again around three I guess. Then up at 3:45 or so for a trip to the restroom, with my nighttime companion Caribia by my side. Then awake for a while more, then asleep again until the alarm went off at 6am.

I have a date with the Sandman tonight, I'm hoping he's on time.

A shout out to IiT Wayne, who swam the full race distance yesterday for the first time! Yippie! I told him he should have reported in to the Blog yesterday with his news, since yesterday's blog needed some help. But since I just found out today, it goes in today's blog!  Congrats!

I had a really good idea tonight. I did some research and found out that at Emma Long Park, there is about a half-mile roped off lap lane in the lake. A perfect spot to practice our open water swimming. Wayne asked what else I knew about the place and I told him there are some good trails there and that it'd be a great place to take the dogs.

I just realized that my toenails are crazy long. I may have to register them, they could hurt somebody. Pedicure tomorrow night for sure. Along with an ice bath. Didn't do one tonight-already 10pm! Crazy late for me!

Hope I didn't forget anything.....another great workout day!

M :)
