Tomorrow is almost here!

Training starts tomorrow-Mondays we swim. 60-90 minutes. Which means I'm going to go for 60 minutes tomorrow! I haven't swam since September-since the Austin Triathlon. I am not a god swimmer. I swim breasktroke. I tried to train freestyle for the Austin Tri, but after about 50 yards I panicked and went back to breaststroke! Kristi swims breastroke too, but she swam in High School and can beat most freestylers with her breaststorke! Wayne swims freestyle and does fine, Todd swims freestyle, and Bonnie swam near-pro status and kicks all our butts! I take at least 5-10 extra minutes to finish the swim.  I love swimming so much I wrote a little ode to swimming:

Swimming is so boring
Why does it have to be
It makes my skin look like a raisin
At least I can tread water to pee.

2 hours and 20 minutes
Is the cutoff for the race
The googles help me see better
But they leave a funny mark on my face.

I hope it's wetsuit legal
A suit helps me not to drown
If the waters over 82
Then I am really going to frown.

So today I'll double check my gym bag for everything I'll be needing for the next six months.

Swim cap-check
Goggles-check
Towel-check
Shower stuff-check
Flipflops-check
Locker padlock-check
Etc-check

Mondays I will swim after work at the 24-Hour-Fitness gym. I like it because it's close to the house and it has Lance Armstrong stuff all over the locker room. Makes it a little easier to get motivated to swim. It's a small pool, with three lap lanes. The water is mostly this pool cleaning salt stuff, with a little bit of chlorine. It's better than straight chlorine-that usually hurts my eyes, throat, nose....there's also a sauna and a hot tub. I've never used either of those. The pool is pretty small, so if I share a lapalane I have to use the one in the middle-because if I get in one of the side lanes, and I end up swimming next to the wall, I end up kicking the wall with my breaststroke kick! Hahaha!

Today we are going for a seven mile run down at the lake. Then I'll just chill. Try to enjoy my last relaxing Sunday.

Until later!

:)
