Today's workout:
63 minute workout on the bike trainer
18 minute run
We set up the trainers under the carport, which worked out perfectly. It's sheltered from the wind, there's a roof in case of rain, it's lighted under there, all in all a very cozy little set-up! It was a pretty crazy workout, one of the hardest I've ever done on a trainer. (Ok, so it's only the second or third workout on a trainer I've done, but still the hardest!) And Kristi officially HATES the trainer! I don't think I've ever heard her complain so much! See, Wayne and I like to get our heart rates up during workouts-I like to sweat out the stress from the day and feel like I'm using my heart. Kristi hates how uncomfortable it makes her feel! But she still cranks it out and rocks the workout. Unfortunately my cheap-o trainer is so noisy that we can't hear the music I set up! Kristi and Wayne's trainers are so quiet!
A special shout-out to James, our professional biker friend, for translating the workout from Ironman Speak to laymans terms! I had the workout hanging on the wall in front of my bike. After a few adjustments so everyone could see their cadence monitors, we had a great workout.
After the biking we put all the equipment away, changed, and headed out for the 15-20 minute prescribed run. The run was great. It's a beautiful night-about 58 degrees and calm winds. Both the pups came along for the run. The five of us ran up to Central Market, did a loop, and ran back. Nice chill run. One of us had some turbo boost at the beginning....no names.....(unless Kristi or Wayne ever have turbo boost, then I'll be posting names! Heehee!)
I was so tired today-I didn't sleep well last night. I felt like I was in quicksand all day-just dragging through the day. Until the workout when I got energized! Then I showered, and now I'm crashing again. So tired. I hope I sleep through the night tonight. Tomorrow morning is my first pre-work swim. It'll be interesting to see how crowded the pool gets in the morning.
Ok, time for my date with the Sandman.
Later gators!
M :)
