Mosquito bites in December

Today's workout:
Bike trainer-70 minute turbo
Run-15-20 minutes

What a great workout tonight! I feel awesome! The bike set-up under the carport works so well. I taped the workout to the wall so it's easy to follow. Some single-leg drills tonight and some power work in the high gears. We did the majority of the workout in high zone 2. Except the warm-up and cool-down of course. We were sweating it up big time! It was about 70 when we did the workout. The mosquitos were ridiculous! But I'll take a skeeter bite over snow anyday! Poor Wayne had to skip the turbo workout and just spin lightly. He's walking with a slight limp and is wearing a long compression sock. It's good that he was able to spin still tough. He said it was boring and that he'd rather be doing the tough workout! Me too, just spinning on a trainer is really boring.

Here's a pic that Chris took of us on the trainers. I recognize Wayne and Kristi, but who is that crazy towel lady in the background?

Wayne RICEd his leg while Kristi, Caribia, Cheyenne, and I ran the 1.8 Central Market loop. Nice and easy-the transition runs are always zone one. Gotta love zone one! Kristi and I both got crazy hungry at about the same time on the run. It's amazing how much we have to eat to sustain the training-and it's only week two! I can only imagine what it's going to be like in a month or so! I guess that's why it' so important to watch what we eat just as much as how much we eat. That way we're sure to get good quality foods with lots of protein, good fats, etc.

I was sure to stretch again tonight. Stretching is slowly becoming my friend. I'm using the foam roller a bunch. It really hurts on parts of my legs, but that only means I need to use it more often on those parts. I'm hoping the stretching and yoga will go a long way towards injury prevention. I'll also be sure to stay away from tennis.

TTFN!
M :)
